Four arrests after violent attack in Bischofshofen

Three days after the brutal attack on a Kosovan man (21) on a platform at Bischofshofen railroad station, the police have taken action: Four of seven suspects have been arrested, three others are on the run. The ages of the young criminals: between 16 and 19.

The "Krone" reported on the violent crime: A Kosovar was the victim of a gang of young criminals. Seven initially unknown perpetrators beat the 21-year-old with punches and kicks. So brutally that he remained unconscious and was later discovered by a train passenger. 

The victim was even in an artificial deep sleep for a short time, but he has since woken up and is recovering under the circumstances. Investigations into the perpetrators began immediately after the crime: Police officers were able to identify the suspects from recovered CCTV footage; they were people known to the police.

Three perpetrators abroad
The public prosecutor's office issued seven arrest warrants: Four suspects were quickly apprehended and taken to the police detention center for questioning. These were two Austrians (both 16), a Slovenian (18) and a Turk (19). Three other suspects (two Serbs and a Bosnian, aged 16, 17 and 19 respectively) are being sought. Investigators suspect that they have absconded abroad.

The police also suspect that some of the suspects had already committed a robbery in Bischofshofen on June 9, also against a 21-year-old who was traveling with three friends.
