It took just six minutes on Tuesday evening for Austria to take the lead against the Netherlands - and they did so without scoring themselves. Donyell Malen was another player (the sixth so far) to add his name to the list of European Championship own goals ...

Red-White-Red started the game in their usual attacking mood, "everything forward" was the motto. In the sixth minute of the game, it was Alexander Prass who played the ball into the penalty area from the left wing, but it did not find an Austrian recipient. 

Instead, Malen stuck his foot out and slotted the ball into his own goal. It was actually a goal worth seeing - but unfortunately for the wrong team from the Dutch point of view. The ÖFB team won't care about that ...

Closing the circle
In a way, the painting buck has come full circle, as Austria themselves were victims of the own-goal penalty in their first European Championship match against France. Maximilian Wöber had headed the ball into the far corner of his own box.
