Third new signing for the Ice Hockey League champions after Andrew Rowe and Nash Nienhuis: The Salzburg team has confirmed the signing of Vienna-born Niki Kraus from runners-up KAC.

The 27-year-old forward already played for one season with the Bulls' junior team at the age of 15 before joining the Cologne Sharks. Kraus made his professional debut with the KAC in the 2015/16 season, where he played a total of nine seasons and won the ICE Hockey League title twice.

In the past season, in which the Red Jackets only reached the final seven against the Ice Bulls, the forward scored 27 points in 58 games - a new high score for him.

"We're very pleased that we still had the opportunity to sign Niki for our team at this point in the year. He is a very good skater who will bring a lot of speed and energy to our game," says club manager Helmut Schlögl.

Niki Kraus says about the change of club: "I am extremely excited about the new challenge and am coming to Salzburg to win a title. I'm looking forward to the entire organization and my teammates, as I've known many of them since I was a child and am good friends with them."
