Fire in Hall’s old town: apartments evacuated

Fire department operation on Sunday evening in Hall in Tirol: there was heavy smoke in a store in the old town. Due to the initially unclear situation, the adjacent apartments were evacuated as a precaution. Fortunately, no one was injured.

A smouldering fire broke out in the store in Hall's old town shortly before 8 pm. According to the police, a local resident noticed the heavy smoke and immediately made an emergency call.

Neighbors had to leave their homes
"Due to the initially completely unclear situation, the residents of the neighboring apartments were briefly evacuated by the police. The fire department finally brought the smouldering fire under control and was able to prevent further smoke development," reported the police. 

No people were injured. The amount of damage caused is not yet known.

Power cable burnt through
Initial investigations at the scene revealed that the fire was caused by burnt-through power cables and then spread to the adjacent furniture and items for sale in the store. 

Further investigations will follow. No one was injured. The amount of damage to property cannot yet be quantified.
