Vandals steal two e-boats from Lake Wörthersee

First the unknown perpetrators broke into a pay machine, then they stole two leashed e-boats under the cover of night.

The vandals first stole a few euros from the pay machine at a swimming pool in Pörtschach on Friday night. But that was apparently not enough. "Presumably the same perpetrators put two e-boats moored at the jetty into operation," explained the police. "They were heading east on Lake Wörthersee."

One of the boats was found in the immediate vicinity of the pool. "The second boat was found in the area of a bathing area in Krumpendorf and then towed back," the police continued. "The sunroof of one of the boats was deliberately torn off and the fitting area was damaged with a fire source."

The actual cost of the damage caused has yet to be determined - but it will clearly dwarf the amount of euros stolen from the cash machine ...
