First increase in 15 years

Private bankruptcies are on the rise in the province of Salzburg, as the "Krone" reported several times. Now the state of Salzburg is increasing the funding for debt counseling.

The institution with Managing Director Peter Niederreiter will receive around 200,000 euros more, a total of 1.4 million euros: "We are pleased that we are getting the increase. This will allow us to handle more bankruptcies, provide more initial consultations and shorten waiting times."

The funding increase is the first in 15 years. Previously, according to Niederreiter, only inflation adjustments were ever waved through. The state is thus responding to rising demand.
