Tour operator FTI cancels all trips

The insolvent travel group FTI Touristik has now canceled all booked trips. No solution has been found to take over the package tours. 

In order to finally give FTI customers the necessary planning security before the start of the summer vacations and to enable them to immediately rebook their trip with another provider, all remaining trips have now been canceled.

175,000 package tours affected
This affects 175,000 package tours and certain individual services that customers booked for departures from July 6 onwards via the insolvent companies FTI Touristik GmbH and BigXtra Touristik GmbH as well as via the 5vorFlug sales brand.

Now that all package tours have been canceled, FTI's travel agency partners can also offer their customers alternative trips. The company has begun to inform customers, travel agencies and hotels.

The provisional insolvency administrator Axel Bierbach put the total volume of existing travel bookings at a high three-digit million figure.

Package travelers will get their money back
All advance payments made by package travelers will be refunded by the Travel Security Fund and all package travelers will get their money back. Customers who have only booked individual services such as flights, hotels and transfers via FTI, on the other hand, are not entitled to a refund of payments already made by the DRSF.
