Hiking the UN goals in the Waldviertel region

In the northern Waldviertel region, people are now following in the footsteps of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the 193 member states of the UN.

The municipalities of Litschau, Heidenreichstein, Eggern, Eisgarn, Haugschlag and Reingers have jointly developed the first interactive SDG hiking trail. 

SDG stands for "Sustainable Development Goals" and comprises the 17 sustainability goals of the United Nations, ranging from nutrition to education and innovation. As part of the hiking trail in the Waldviertel region, they are being made understandable and comprehensible at a regional level for the first time at interactive stations.

Grand opening
After three years of preparation with 40 partner organizations and businesses from the region, the hiking trail will be opened on Saturday. The meeting point is at 8.30 am at the elementary school in Eggern.
