Driver tried to flee after accident with scrap car

Saturday evening at the Airport Center in Wals-Siezenheim near Salzburg: A Serbian driver (25) crashed his car into several concrete bollards. Although the car was wrecked afterwards, he still wanted to drive away.

As this was not possible due to the damage, the 25-year-old fled the scene of the accident on foot. According to witnesses, he was obviously heavily intoxicated. After a short time, the police were able to apprehend the young man. However, the Serbian showed his aggressive side during the arrest: he tried to defend himself against the police officers with punches and kicks.

This ultimately led to his arrest. The man refused to take the breathalyzer test. As a result, he immediately had to surrender his driver's license and will now be charged with resisting law enforcement, among other things.
