Pedestrian hit by car during storm

Due to the storm on Sunday night, a 24-year-old local man overlooked a pedestrian at a crosswalk in the city of Salzburg and hit him with his car. 

According to the police, the driver's visibility was so restricted by the heavy rain that he noticed the 35-year-old on the crosswalk too late. The accident victim was thrown onto the road and broke his left tibia. The accident happened at around 10.30 p.m. at the crosswalk in Gaisbergstraße near the Borromäum.

The ambulance took the injured 35-year-old to Salzburg University Hospital. A breathalyzer test with both parties involved was negative.
