Drunk driver (38) crashed into the stream bed

On Sunday morning, a 38-year-old driver left the road in Sankt Barbara im Mürztal and ended up in the Veitschbach stream. A passer-by called the emergency services and the fire department was able to free the man. He had probably been driving drunk.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, a 38-year-old man was driving along the L 131 towards Veitsch when he left the road in his car for unknown reasons. He had probably lost control and crashed into the Veitschbach.

Pedestrian called the rescue team
Fortunately, a passer-by was walking past with her dog at the time. She alerted the emergency services. The fire department was able to pull the driver out of the vehicle. He was flown to hospital by rescue helicopter. It later transpired that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
