Overnight, "The World's 50 Best Restaurants" were chosen. Thanks to the list, the whole world now knows that Austria is home to one of the 50 or even one of the 25 best restaurants on the planet!

It's official: Steirereck in Vienna's Stadtpark is (still) one of the fifty best restaurants in the world!

Thanks to the expertise of head chef Heinz and the hospitality of his wife Birgit Reitbauer, the family-run restaurant came 22nd in this year's ranking, which is presented once a year in London. Although they slipped down four places compared to last year, they still provide the most outstanding restaurant experience in the German-speaking world - Tim Raue's restaurant in Berlin only comes in at 30th place.

One Austrian restaurant in the overall ranking
Juan Amador, the only top chef in this country with a fabulous three stars on his lapel, and his Nobellokal Amador in Vienna's 19th district are not included in the list.
