Service dog “Cox” caught fugitive thief

Two men (40, 20) were observed loading bicycles into a van in Hörsching on Thursday night. A police patrol was able to arrest the older man, the younger one gave chase. But he had made his calculations without the service dog "Cox".

At around 2.20 a.m. on Thursday, local residents observed two men (40, 20) loading bicycles into a van with a foreign license plate in Hörsching. They informed the emergency services, who were able to stop the van and arrest the driver (40).

Bitch had the right nose
The younger man jumped out of the van and gave the police the money, but forgot his sweater on the passenger seat. Service dog handler Andrea T. (37) was called to help with her four-legged friend "Cox". The Belgian shepherd picked up the fugitive's scent and found him a short time later in a fenced-in property.

Thieving father-son duo
The 20-year-old was lying flat under a hedge and was arrested without resistance. The thieving duo are father and son, the son was convicted of theft a month ago.

Crackers after successful manhunt
A stolen quad bike, e-scooter, numerous bicycles and items of clothing with price tags were found in the vehicle. "Cox got a cracker as a reward after the operation," says the visibly proud service dog handler Andrea T.
