Tobacco shop door smashed: 18-year-old arrested

On Monday night, an 18-year-old Austrian allegedly smashed the glass door of a tobacconist's in Heiligenstädter Straße in Vienna-Döbling with a brick and then stole cash from the store. The police arrested the teenager not far from the scene of the crime.

According to a police statement, the 18-year-old was released. During the search of the arrested man, the officers not only found the allegedly stolen cash, but also a pepper spray and a small amount of herbal cannabis.

As the young man is subject to an official weapons ban, he was also charged with possession of the spray.
