This was certainly not an everyday operation for the Marchtrenk fire department in Upper Austria: a swift was stuck with its wing on an adhesive strip in a window frame. The Florianis and the animal rescue team worked together to free the helpless animal.

An unusual alliance of helpers was deployed in Marchtrenk on Wednesday: the local fire department and Gusental Animal Aid. They were called out because a swift had got its wing caught on an adhesive strip in a window frame and was unable to free itself.

Broken wing
To be more precise: the animal was stuck in the recess for a shutter box in the façade. The fire department and animal rescue service were able to quickly free the swift and take it to a care center in Linz for further treatment of its apparently broken wing.
