Open fire on capercaillie: harsh criticism of the authorities

The Association Against Animal Factories accuses the Scheibbs district authority of "arbitrariness on the part of the authorities". It had issued a shooting order for a capercaillie just one day before it came into force. This would evade any possibility of control and "undermine the rule of law". The authority sees no fault - the accusations would also not correspond to the facts.

The Association Against Animal Factories (VGT) has harsh criticism of the Scheibbs district authority. This is because it was "particularly brazen" in its approach to issuing a shooting notice for a capercaillie. This was issued "unlawfully" for a period of three weeks just one day before it came into force. "This means that the authority rules out any control of its actions from the outset", says the VGT.
