Keys snatched: child locks himself in car

In the district of Waidhofen an der Thaya in Lower Austria, a small child had to be freed from a locked car on Wednesday afternoon. The Pfaffenschlag fire department rescued the girl, who was standing in the car in the blazing sun. 

The one-and-a-half-year-old girl had grabbed the car key unnoticed while buckling up and when her mother closed the door, the child locked the vehicle, which was standing in the blazing sun.

The Pfaffenschlag fire department was able to open the door a short time later and the girl was rescued.
