Teachers’ representatives warn against planned large school

Trade unionists have sent an open letter to Salzburg's SPÖ mayor Bernhard Auinger. Staff representatives around Christine Haslauer feel that they have been ignored and that they only found out about the planned merger of the Maxglan 1 and 2 elementary school by chance. 

The resulting "giant school" with 550 children brings disadvantages, the trade unionists point out, referring to similar large schools in Salzburg.

Due to the limited resources available to compulsory schools, it is hardly possible to run such large schools. The open letter is also addressed to the local council, calling for the project to be halted.
