Sun worshippers sad: “Nora” holds back the summer

We had record heat in April, but the merry month of May in Upper Austria fell through in places, or was characterized by late April weather. Now it is "Nora" that is spoiling the joy of sun worshippers and she is not alone - summer is staying outside.

A look at the weather maps at Geosphere Austria, ubimet and wetter.com reveals the same gloomy outlook: Sun, rain, sun, rain. At the moment, it is the lows "Nora" and "Orinoco" that are fighting for dominance with the high "Volker".

Maximum 26 degrees
"A stable high with a few sunny days in a row is currently not in sight for Upper Austria, but also for the whole of Austria," says Steffen Dietz from the ubimet weather service. Today, temperatures could climb from a cool eight degrees in the morning to 26 degrees - as the air is humid, thunderstorms are also possible in the Salzkammergut.
