40-year-old motorcyclist involved in a crash

A collision between a car and a motorcycle on Saturday evening ended fatally for a 40-year-old motorcyclist in the district of south-eastern Styria. A turning maneuver by the 25-year-old car driver caused the 40-year-old to fall and succumb to his injuries at the scene of the accident in Gnas. The young woman was probably dazzled by the evening sun.

The 40-year-old was riding his motorcycle in Gnas on Saturday evening when the accident occurred shortly after 5 pm. The trigger: a 25-year-old female driver was driving on the L 212 in the direction of St. Stefan im Rosenthal and decided to make a U-turn.

Died at the scene of the accident
She steered onto a straight section of road in order to turn her car at a bus stop on both sides of the road. She probably overlooked the motorcyclist due to the low sun. The 40-year-old touched the side of the car and crashed. The emergency doctor tried everything to save the man's life, but he died at the scene of the accident.
