Tyrol: Telephone system smoked, stove fired incorrectly

Tyrol's Floriani firefighters had to respond to two incidents on Thursday. Smoke developed in a telephone system in Ramsau in Zillertal. In Kleinstockach (Reutte district), an incorrectly lit stove was the reason for the alarm.

The first call-out came at around 3.45 pm in Ramsau. A telephone system in a catering business had developed heavy smoke. The cause was a defective circuit board.

Using breathing protection, the fire department was able to prevent a further outbreak of fire. The damage to property was probably minor.

When the neighbor saw flames rising from the chimney, she called the fire department.

Stove lit incorrectly
The second fire broke out at around 4.30 pm in Kleinstockach. A couple had lit the fireplace in a vacation home. "When the neighbor saw flames rising from the chimney, she called the fire department," according to the investigators.

The firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading. Fortunately, no people were injured. According to the investigators, the couple had not lit the stove properly.
