Man flees during attempted arrest

A man threatened his wife, leading to a police operation in Hohenems on Sunday. The man tried to flee - pepper spray was used. 

At around 4 p.m. on Sunday, a woman called the police in Hohenems: her husband was threatening her, she reported. When the police arrived on the scene, the man had already left the apartment but was still in the immediate vicinity.

When the police tried to arrest the man, he started to flee. One of the officers managed to catch up with the fugitive and stop him. However, the man vehemently resisted arrest, which is why the police officers made use of their pepper spray.

However, it was only by using their full physical strength that the officers finally succeeded in arresting the fugitive. He was banned from approaching and entering the premises. The police are now investigating on suspicion of making a dangerous threat and resisting public authority.
