Motorcyclist (20) crashed into crash barrier: dead!

What a pity for this young life! A 20-year-old motorcyclist from Kirchham crashed into a crash barrier on the B120 in Gschwandt near Gmunden on Saturday afternoon and died.

The traffic accident occurred on the B120 in the municipality of Gschwandt at 3.45 p.m. on Saturday. The 20-year-old motorcyclist from Kirchham was traveling with two other motorcyclists from the direction of Scharnstein in the direction of Gmunden. On a left-hand bend, the 20-year-old suddenly lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the crash barrier. He sustained fatal injuries as a result. According to the current state of the investigation, it is likely to have been a single-vehicle accident, in which the possibility of third party negligence can be ruled out. 

The B120 was closed for two and a half hours
At the time of the accident, the road was dry and the weather was clear. The B120 was closed to all traffic for approximately two and a half hours. Clean-up work was carried out by the local fire department.
