Daum on cancer: “No longer the news of death”

According to Christoph Daum, who is suffering from cancer, his health is making progress: "I'm doing well - as the saying goes - according to the circumstances."

"It's a ride on sight. The cancer diagnosis has lost some of its horror. It's no longer such death news," said the former coach of German Bundesliga clubs Cologne, Stuttgart, Leverkusen and Frankfurt as well as Vienna's Austria on Welt-TV on Sunday.

The 70-year-old German made his illness public in October 2022.

"We have incredibly good therapies today. I'm in the best of hands. I am confident and call out to everyone: Fight, have courage and face this challenge of cancer. It's worth living," said Daum.
