Nothing again! HSV misses out on Bundesliga return
Hamburger SV will not return to Germany's Bundesliga in 2024 either!
The Hanseatic side lost 0:1 in Paderborn in the second-last round of the second German league and can therefore no longer reach third place, which would mean participation in the relegation play-off. HSV are in fourth place, four points behind third-placed Fortuna Düsseldorf.

At the top, Holstein Kiel (with Benedikt Pichler) and St. Pauli (with David Nemeth) are close to direct promotion with five and four points respectively ahead of Düsseldorf. Kiel will host Fortuna on Saturday and can secure their Bundesliga ticket with a draw.
If they are promoted, the "Storks" would be the first club from Schleswig-Holstein in the Bundesliga, which was founded in 1963. If Kiel were to win, St. Pauli would also be promoted before their home game against VfL Osnabrück on Sunday.
