Woman had to save herself from her own cat

An emergency call was received by Salzburg Animal Rescue last Saturday from a desperate cat owner. However, it was the woman who had to be rescued, not her cat.

When the animal rescue team arrived, the pet owner had barricaded herself in a room - to protect herself from her aggressive tomcat. He had previously inflicted deep bite and scratch wounds on her.

The animal rescue team managed to shoo the cat onto the balcony and free the woman from her predicament. The owner was taken to hospital, but the cat was taken to the vet.

The reason for the pet's aggressive behavior is not known. It remains at the vet. The owner will have to decide for herself whether to let the cat back home.
