Survey shows:
One in two would resign if working from home was abolished
According to a study, mobile working and working from home are very important for job satisfaction: almost half of the office workers surveyed (47 percent) in Germany would resign if their employer were to abolish or severely restrict these options.
This was the result of a survey of more than 2,000 employees conducted by the YouGov Institute on behalf of Continental, as the automotive supplier announced.
At the same time, a combination of working from home and being in the office is the ideal model for the majority of employees. Sixty-two percent of those surveyed stated that they would find it ideal to spend half or more of their weekly working hours in the office. For 19 percent, four or even five days working from home or mobile working would be the ideal option.
39% value the time saved by not having to travel when working from home, 37% see a better work-life balance or flexibility as the greatest advantage, while 17% see concentrated working from home as the greatest advantage. A small majority (47%) value social interaction the most when working from home, while a better separation of work and private life and more efficient teamwork were also mentioned.
