"So unrealistic"
Aniston: “Social media is ruining my life”
Jennifer Aniston (55) is known to hate social media. TikTok in particular is a thorn in her side. Because: social media would ruin the actress' life, as the actress has now admitted.
Almost five years after her Instagram debut, Jennifer Aniston made it clear that fans will probably never get to see the actress on the TikTok platform. In an interview with "Entertainment Tonight", she explained that she "won't subscribe to another thing that ruins my life or anyone else's".
"I don't have a TikTok and I never will," the 55-year-old emphasized, adding that she keeps social media "at arm's length" for a good reason.
"Mental health suffers" from social media
"They can suck you in and you've wasted hours of your life", says the "Friends" star, who sometimes can't believe it herself "when I find myself in a veritable wormhole of dog and puppy videos, videos of rescued animals, babies and cats".
For Aniston, the unhealthiest aspect of social media is "the mental health that children suffer from because of comparison and despair".
Aniston paralyzed Instagram
When Aniston joined Instagram in October 2019, the actress caused the site to collapse. Within a very short space of time, the 55-year-old's first post, which showed her with her "Friends" colleagues, received millions of likes.
Today, Aniston shows authenticity on social media. "We have good days. We have bad days. We have good hair days. We have shitty hair days. It's just unrealistic to try to sell something that doesn't feel authentic," Jennifer Aniston clarified.
