Burglar met homeowner in courtyard

A burglar ringing the doorbell? That's what happened in Hof near Salzburg. As nobody opened the door, he entered via the patio door and subsequently met the occupant of the house.

A burglary occurred in Hof near Salzburg on Wednesday evening: a previously unknown burglar forced his way into a detached house and triggered a rapid response from the local authorities.

According to the police, the perpetrator first pressed the doorbell several times before gaining access to the house by breaking down the patio door. Inside the house, however, the burglar was surprised by the homeowner, causing him to flee hastily through the front door.

Despite an immediate manhunt, in which police dogs were also deployed, the search for the perpetrator has so far been unsuccessful. However, the investigation is in full swing.
