At the end of the season
Union apparently part ways with Nenad Bjelica
German Bundesliga club Union Berlin are apparently parting ways with Nenad Bjelica at the end of the season. According to a report, it almost came to a separation before the relegation battle against Bochum at the weekend.
According to the German trade journal "kicker", the Berliners and the former Austria coach will part ways at the end of the season.
"The 52-year-old is not trusted to develop the team in the long term. What's more, his match preparation - such as not using video analysis - is said to be viewed critically by the squad," wrote "kicker" online on Wednesday morning.
"Premature separation not completely ruled out"
There had even been thoughts of changing coaches before the last three games of the season. However, they are now tackling the fight to stay in the league together, "even if a premature separation still does not seem completely out of the question", according to "kicker".
Bjelica took over at Union in November and led the club from the bottom of the table to a secure mid-table position. However, only one win from the last nine games has ensured that the Berliners are right in the middle of the relegation battle.
