Ukrainian soldiers killed during rehab in Bavaria
The two Ukrainians (23 and 36) who were allegedly killed by a Russian in Bavaria were members of the Ukrainian armed forces. They were in Germany for medical rehabilitation to cure their war injuries.
Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has instructed his diplomats to keep an eye on the case and maintain contact with German authorities to ensure that the suspect is punished in accordance with the law.
Kuleba thanked the German authorities for the arrest of the 57-year-old suspect, as reported by the internet portal "Ukrajinska Prawda". The Russian is said to have killed the two Ukrainians, who were found with stab wounds on the premises of a shopping center on Saturday. The older victim died immediately, the younger one died in hospital.
Men died of stab wounds
The Ukrainian units in which the men served are currently being clarified. Contact is also being made with the relatives. The men had lived in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. According to the investigators, they died of stab wounds.
Blood found on door lock
The suspected attacker was apprehended in his apartment, which is in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene. Investigators found blood on the door lock. The man was arrested.
The investigating judge issued an arrest warrant for murder on Sunday. The police had not yet clarified whether the three men knew each other and whether there was a dispute in connection with Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.
