Christian Ilzer admits: “It wasn’t a good idea”

It had looked like a win for Sturm Graz for a long time, but in the end the Styrians had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Red Bull Salzburg on Sunday. You can find all the comments on the game here.

Onur Cinel (Salzburg coach): 
"In the first half we conceded the goal straight away and in the second we didn't - for me that's the main difference between the first and second half. The team took too long to come to terms with that, we did all that better in the second half. That second half certainly gives them a lot of confidence in their own abilities. The boys showed how good they can be. You have to take that with you for the remaining games. If we perform like that, there's a good chance we'll win them."

Christian Ilzer (Sturm coach): 
"We should have made it 3-0 in the first half. Even after that, I kept feeling that we would bring about the decision on the counter-attack. But then our legs got heavy, we wanted to manage the lead - and that wasn't a good idea. There was no more relief. But at the end of the day, it's a point that puts us in a position where we have it in our own hands. A lot will still happen, a lot will be possible, but we won't let ourselves go crazy."

Mads Bidstrup (Salzburg midfielder): 
"We can't just start playing soccer when we're 2-0 down. We had a good chat at the break, and in the second half the team showed what attacking qualities they have."

Jon Gorenc Stankovic (attacking midfielder): 
"We want to win every game. Today it feels like a defeat. When you lead like that and then almost get the 2:3, it's not good."
