As so often in the past, the TGW decathlon union was once again the forerunner this year: With the line-up of Julius Rudorfer, Susanne Gogl-Walli, Antonia Reisz and Samuel Lengauer, the traditional Linz club was the first to enter the Austrian record list of clubs with the mixed relay over 4 x 400 m in 3:33.88 minutes.

This mixed relay has been part of the Olympic program since Tokyo 2021, but only now has this attractive relay competition been held for the first time in Austria - at the suggestion of OÖLV President Roland Werthner - as part of the Upper Austrian State Championships in Linz. A record is a record... It now has to be bettered by another Austrian club.

Number 6 in Europe
In Europe this year, only five club relay teams have run this mixed relay faster than the TGW decathlon union. The current leader is KS AZS Olsztyn (Alleinstein) with 3:27:30.

The fastest time in the mixed relay so far for Austria was achieved by the national relay team on June 22, 2023 with 3:22.46 in Chorzow. In this quartet, Susanne Gogl-Walli, this year's sensational sixth in the 400m at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, was the final runner after Alessandro Greco, Lena Pressler and Leo Köhldorfer.

Speaking of Chorzow: Susanne Gogl-Walli is planning her season opener over 400 m here on May 18.
