Abused by boyfriend, then woman (42) stabs him

A man (48) is said to have threatened to murder his 44-year-old partner and a neighbor in Vienna-Favoriten on Saturday evening. He then dragged his girlfriend into his own apartment and sexually assaulted her. The victim then allegedly pulled out a knife and seriously injured the Bosnian.

The woman's two children were also present at the horrific scenes, which took place at around 8.05 p.m. on Saturday in a residential building in Favoriten.

According to the police, the Austrian woman claimed to have used a knife against the 48-year-old during the attack. She then fled the apartment.

The police officers who were alerted subsequently found the man seriously injured and arrested him. He and the victim were taken to hospital by ambulance. The suspect is also said to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

"The children were picked up by relatives and the child and youth welfare services were informed about the incident," said police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger.
