Rescue at Aiderbichl
Readers’ choice: foal is called “Palmina”
She can already jump and hop quite well and has a lot of fun doing it," says animal keeper Lisa about Gut Aiderbichl's "Easter miracle". Just a few weeks ago, no one would have thought that the little foal would be jumping happily and actively across the lush green meadows in Henndorf.
"The little one's mother was already on her way to the slaughterhouse when we rescued her," says animal keeper Lisa. A week before Easter, the foal saw the light of day at Gut Aiderbichl, safe and sound.
Name relates to the foal's birthday
Thanks to Krone readers, the little mare has now also found a name! She will be called Palmina in future. Numerous suggestions poured in after Gut Aiderbichl's appeal. The name referring to the little horse's birthday on Palm Sunday clearly won the race.
Palmina didn't notice much of the hustle and bustle surrounding her over the past few days. "After the excitement of playing in the meadow, she always gets tired quite quickly. Just like all the other babies, Palmina also likes to sleep a lot," says the zookeeper. Or she nibbles on her favorite muesli.
