The device was completely destroyed. Was it an angry driver?

The radar boxes set up along country roads and at the entrances to towns have probably caused trouble for many a driver. One or two drivers have probably also received a hefty fine because of the speed camera. However, one device on the stretch between Winden am See and Kaisersteinbruch must have been a particular thorn in the side of one driver.

Loud bang
The radar box was blown up on Saturday night and completely destroyed. There was a loud bang at around half past two in the morning. All that remains of the device are the individual parts.

100,000 euros damage
The attack was noticed only a short time later by a passing motorist who had noticed the remains of the radar box scattered across the road. He then informed the police. The damage is likely to amount to around 100,000 euros. It is one of the boxes used by the province of Burgenland for speed monitoring. Investigations are now underway. It is suspected that the perpetrator may have been flashed by this radar a few times before. Information to the police: 059133-1130
