THE "KRONE"-NÖ-COLUMN
The little messenger tries to stay awake
This is how I fight spring fatigue! As a columnist, "Die kleine Botin" aka Daniela Gaigg writes about topics relating to life with the family. These include sustainability in everyday life, self-care and food for thought for parents.
Rising temperatures and the capricious weather in April, more everyday activity and finally wanting to do more outside again, plus job stress - no wonder many of us (including me) feel tired and worn out. The much-described "spring fatigue" is definitely not a myth. Many of us are affected by the change of seasons due to changing light conditions and temperatures.
As the causes are both physical and mental factors, it is often not completely avoidable. So we have to find ways and means of dealing with sluggishness and tiredness. Personally, I focus on regular exercise and fresh air. My daily yoga routine becomes even more important at times like these and I set aside a few extra minutes for it, which really makes a difference at the end of the day.
Energy through scents
For a stimulating environment, I like to use essential oils in the room fragrance (mint, lemongrass and rosemary), which help to give me more energy.
Lots of fresh vegetables, which are now seasonally available again, and vitamins from fruit and ginger are also good energy boosters. I also provide targeted support with vitamin capsules. Drinking enough water is also extremely important.
A regular daily routine and an early and adequate night's sleep are of course also very helpful.
