Pedestrian injured
Three drivers flee after accident in just one day
Why do people do this? There were three traffic accidents in Upper Austria on Tuesday in which one of the drivers involved failed to stop and hit and ran. Only in one case could the perpetrator be identified, who was under the influence of alcohol.
At around 4.25 pm, a 44-year-old man from the Linz-Land district was driving a truck on the B38 from Sandl in the direction of Karlstift. Behind him was a 19-year-old woman, also from the Linz-Land district, driving a car. Suddenly, an unknown articulated truck with a semi-trailer approached from the opposite direction.
Side mirror touched
The vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane, hit the 44-year-old's truck and damaged the side mirror. The 19-year-old's car was also slightly damaged by falling debris. The unknown driver of the articulated truck continued his journey without stopping
Incident also in Wels
A hit-and-run driver also committed a hit-and-run in Wels: While reversing out of a parking space at the same time, two cars collided in Schmierndorferstraße. However, one of the drivers, a 68-year-old man from Wels, did not accept the collision and simply drove on. A short time later, he was found at his home address, where the accident investigation revealed clear symptoms of alcohol intoxication. A breathalyzer test carried out on him was positive.
Hit from behind
The third case: In Mondsee, a 69-year-old woman was walking along Bader Göbl-Straße towards the town center shortly before 12 noon. She stated that she had been hit from behind by a car, causing her to fall and injure her left elbow. The woman was unable to provide any information about the car or the driver. Two passers-by called the ambulance. The 69-year-old was then taken by ambulance to Salzburg Regional Hospital.
Please call the Mondsee police station on 059133 4167 with any information about the hit-and-run driver.
