Schauspielhaus gets new management structure
The Schauspielhaus's management team is undergoing a major overhaul: in January, Schauspielhaus director Robert Pienz was suspended. In February, it was announced that he would be allowed to return under certain conditions. It is now clear that the Schauspielhaus will be reorganizing its management structure for the 2025/26 season.
Following the accusations and the temporary suspension of Artistic Director Robert Pienz, a three-member board of directors with equal rights will be in place when Pienz's contract expires in July 2025. This was announced by the Schauspielhaus board on Tuesday.
From now on, a three-person management team will steer the business of the Schauspielhaus. The theater's current Head of Accounting, Christian Rathner, will become Managing Commercial Director from 2025, while Technical Director Rene Pointner will become Technical Director.
The position of artistic director has already been advertised. Applications can be submitted from now until June 5.
