Tamsweg fire department has to go to kindergarten

There was a lot of excitement at the Tamsweg kindergarten on Tuesday morning. There was an acrid smell in the air. The fire department was quickly alerted.

The Tamsweg volunteer fire department was alerted at 8.35 a.m. to a hazardous goods incident in the Lungau municipality. The alarm text: "Acrid odor" in the local kindergarten. 25 firefighters including a hazardous materials vehicle were deployed.

A comprehensive investigation of the situation confirmed the smell in several rooms. These were checked using a measuring device, but no conspicuous measured values were detected.

Finally, after opening the locked cellar compartments, an illegally parked moped was discovered in the adjoining residential building, which was leaking petrol and could be identified as the cause of the unpleasant odor.

After the moped was removed and extensive ventilation measures were carried out, the Tamsweg fire department returned to the scene.
