Negotiations over a possible transfer of Alphonso Davies to Real Madrid have been dragging on for months. The latest twist: according to the French newspaper "L'Equipe", Bayern are said to be interested in Ferland Mendy, who is known to be at home in the same position as the Canadian. 

According to the report, Davies and Mendy could simply swap clubs - left-back for left-back. Now that Davies has still not agreed to the offer he has received from Bayern, a departure is moving ever closer, with Real Madrid reportedly interested in the 23-year-old's services.

Due to the personnel problems in the back line, however, Munich will have to bring a replacement to the Isar as quickly as possible, as Mendy would probably have to worry about playing minutes in the future if a Davies transfer comes about, so signing the Frenchman is obvious.
