New LASK coach
“We want to create, not just destroy!”
New LASK head coach Thomas Darazs spoke openly about his players, the coaching team, the license revocation and his role models ahead of Sunday's home game against Hartberg. And the 46-year-old also has a very clear plan when it comes to ideas for the game.
Before the 3:1 win over Salzburg, LASK had sent Max Ritscher to the press conference. After his license was revoked and he was given a "no", Thomas Darazs was the declared "head coach" before the Hartberg game. The UEFA Pro license holder on:
The license drama:
"It hardly affected the coach and team, that's not our construction site - it's on the pitch!"
The coaching roles:
"Max Ritscher and I see ourselves as a team and try to get the best out of things together. We are not just two, but several."
Coaching role models:
"I played under Hrubesch, Skocik, Haan, Prohaska and Baumeister, so you take a lot from that. But in terms of people management, most of it from Michael Keller!"
The mood:
"It's more relaxed than in the first week, with the win the ballast fell off. But the boys are focused, show that it's not over yet, that they're alive and want to play really good last rounds."
The game idea:
"Football is more than just: 'Hopefully nothing happens to us and we look to counter out, gather the biggest players so that we're dangerous with set pieces. We want to create, not just destroy, have fun. Why do you buy a subscription to Sky or Dazn? Not to destroy, but because you want to have a good evening."
The injured:
"With Zulj it remains to be seen whether he can still play in the spring, Horvath is back after suffering a knock. Ljubic has now had surgery on his thigh, Renner and Mustapha are out for longer anyway."
