Argument in Graz escalates: Woman stabbed with a knife
On Sunday, an argument between a Hungarian woman (48) and her partner (31) escalated in Graz. The woman grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him. The man was seriously injured but is out of danger.
It only became known on Monday that a bloody crime occurred on Sunday in the Gries district of Graz. At around 7 pm, a 48-year-old Hungarian woman and her 31-year-old partner got into an argument in an apartment in Triester Straße. Both were heavily intoxicated and the argument was probably triggered by jealousy.
Man seriously injured in stabbing
In any case, the woman suddenly grabbed a kitchen knife during the argument and simply stabbed him. The man suffered a stab wound to his upper body. The son-in-law, who was in the apartment and witnessed the act, immediately called the emergency services.
The 31-year-old victim was initially in mortal danger and was immediately taken to Graz Regional Hospital. His life is now out of danger, but he is still under intensive medical care.
Suspicion of attempted murder
The 48-year-old and her son-in-law were so heavily intoxicated at the time of the crime that they could only be questioned about the crime on Monday. The suspect denied any intention to kill. The public prosecutor's office in Graz has nevertheless ordered an investigation on suspicion of attempted murder. The suspect will be taken to Graz-Jakomini prison.
