Klangfrühling Stadtschlaining is to be incorporated into Kultur-Betriebe Burgenland. The aim is to enhance the cultural location of southern Burgenland with an expanded range of events at the festival and a newly designed annual program.

Klangfrühling Stadtschlaining will be incorporated into Kultur-Betriebe Burgenland (KBB) on May 1st. They will take over the organization of the festival from the "Verein Zukunft Schlaining". Little will change in terms of personnel: Werner Glösl will also take over the event organization for the KBB, and Gerhard Krammer will be involved in the artistic area as a designer, announced Governor Hans Peter Doskozil. KBB Managing Director Barbara Weißeisen-Halwax explains that the integration is intended to ensure cost and implementation efficiency. Shared services can be used for ticketing and marketing, for example. In addition, communication and decision-making processes could be handled faster and more effectively.

Klangfrühling with a top-class program
What began in 2000 with chamber music at Schlaining Castle has developed into an outstanding event with an unmistakable profile. The 23rd edition of Klangfrühling - May 5 to 12 - will feature 18 events. "The renowned artist Marianne Mendt, known for her work `Die Glock'n, die 24 Stunden leit`, will be a guest at Klangfrühling for the first time. The versatile singer, actress, presenter and initiator will perform the opening concert in the Granarium with her band," explains artistic director Gerhard Krammer. Other highlights include performances by artists such as the Canadian cellist Denis Brott, the South Tyrolean clarinettist and Philharmoniker Andrea Götsch, the pianist and composer Eduard Kutrowatz, the duo Wiener Blond and the exceptional young Burgenland pianist Gabriel Tritremmel. Star guest Konstantin Wecker provides the crowning finale. "The traditional musical journey through all five districts is on offer, as is a festival for all the senses with a wealth of culinary delights," adds Managing Director Werner Glösl.

The castle is open all year round
In addition to Klangfrühling, the program includes Klangherbst in November and "Blues&More" in July, with further concerts (KIXX, ABBA Symphonics) taking place in summer.

Six fascinating exhibitions round off the cultural program
From 9 May, Schlaining Castle will also host six fascinating exhibitions focusing on history, peace and democracy under the motto "From fortified castle to peace castle".
