Final series against KAC
Special Salzburg magic in game four
Eisbullen completed the dozen successes with victory at 1:2 in the series....Final hit enters the fifth round today at KAC - both teams have the first match puck. Coach Oliver David: "We remain grounded."
Giving up is not an option for Salzburg. The Eisbulls proved that once again impressively at the colossal Eisarena evening on Friday. The opening period was miserable, the comeback after the break all the more impressive. With a much better offense, in which the defenders also got more involved.
With Murphy, Sinn and Robertson, three defenders also scored to make it 4:3 before Bourke tied the game at 4:5 and then pulled it out of the fire in the second overtime with the 6:5.
And so, with the magic of Salzburg's game four - they have won all eleven so far in a 1:2 series - enchanted the crowds. "I'll never forget this game," said the "Cowboy", relishing the jubilation and the brace. His equalizer was proof of how tight the final is, how "dirty goals" are needed - the puck went into the Red Jackets' goal via a KAC skate for the fourth time in the current thriller series.
Dahm predicted fireworks
In which goalie Dahm was also given a proper beating. What the Dane already announced after the low-scoring opening game (Bulls 1:0 n. V. away): "At some point there will also be fireworks." Like a ketchup bottle, where first nothing, then everything slips out.
In the middle: Philipp Sinn, who scored the first play-off goal of his career. "I went for it, I didn't want it one hundred percent," grinned the 20-year-old German, who is having a strong season and is continuing to improve. And in Salzburg he also gave his heart to his girlfriend Magdalena, herself an ice hockey player. Which makes him confident for Sunday's game, in which both teams are now reaching for their first final match puck: "We have good legs, are well conditioned."
Coach Oliver David also welcomed the two days until the third Klagenfurt appearance: "We're staying grounded. Every game is like a new start, even if it's now just a best-of-three series, so to speak."
ICE Hockey Leaguer: Final (best of seven), game 5: Today: KAC - Salzburg (17.30, live Puls 24)/Stand: 2:2.
