"Completely incomprehensible"
Due to change of coach: LASK denied license
Due to the change of coach on Wednesday, Senate 5 of the Bundesliga has denied LASK a license for the coming season in the first instance. The team from Linz is lodging a protest.
All first division clubs with the exception of LASK were granted a license for the Bundesliga in the first instance. The Bundesliga regulations stipulate a period of 60 days after a change of coach to reappoint a head coach who is in possession of the UEFA Pro License.
"We have complied with all formal legal regulations of the Bundesliga in full and at all times. After naming the new coaching team of Thomas Darazs and Maximilian Ritscher, Darazs took over as head coach as the holder of the UEFA Pro License, which we immediately reported to the league. It is therefore completely incomprehensible and arbitrary that Senate 5 has made such a decision. Since we meet all the requirements, we firmly expect to receive the license in the second instance," LASK Managing Director of Sport Radovan Vujanovic shakes his head.
Chaos in Linz
As reported by the "Krone", LASK changed the name of their coach again after 36 hours and now have their third head coach within two days: on Wednesday morning it was Thomas Sageder, from Wednesday afternoon until Thursday evening it was 30-year-old Max Ritscher, who also prepared the team for the Salzburg game. However, Thomas Darasz (46) will now coach the team. For licensing reasons, as the LASK announced in a clarification. But now the nasty surprise: Senate 5 of the Bundesliga did not issue a license for the Linz team.
The clubs have eight days to lodge a written protest against the Senate 5 decision with the protest committee - this year the deadline is Monday, April 22. The decision of the protest committee will be made this year by Monday, April 29. This ends the appeal process within the Bundesliga. After that, a complaint can be lodged with the Permanent Court of Neutral Arbitration within eight days.
