K-pop superstar Park Bo Ram (30) is dead
K-pop superstar Park Bo Ram (30) was found unconscious on Thursday evening. The cause of death has not yet been determined, the authorities are investigating.
"Park Bo Ram left us suddenly in the late evening of April 11. We are deeply saddened to have to break this sudden news to her fans," read an official statement.
According to Namyangju Police Station officials, the portal "All K-Pop" confirms that Park Bo Ram was out with friends on Thursday night. While they were at a party, the South Korean woman went to the toilet at around 9.55 pm.
When she did not return, her friends went looking for her and found her unconscious. The emergency services then took her to hospital, where she was pronounced dead just a few hours later.
Park Bo Ram gained recognition as a musician after she took part in the talent show "SuperStar K2" in 2010. In 2014, her first solo song "Beautiful" reached the charts.
In February of this year, she celebrated her tenth anniversary on stage and planned to release a new album. In addition, she has already released a new single - a duet with K-pop star Huh Gak called "I Hope".
