1:3 in the second leg
Assist from Messi – but out of the Champions Cup
World footballer Lionel Messi and Inter Miami were eliminated from the CONCACAF Champions Cup on Wednesday (local time). After losing 2-1 at home to Mexican club CF Monterrey in the first leg last week, David Beckham's team were also defeated 3-1 in the second leg.
Messi, who had missed the first leg through injury, played through and set up the goal for the Americans.
Two more title chances
Following their elimination from the North and Central American Champions League, Miami still have two chances of winning the title. In the league, the team is third in the Eastern Conference, plus the Leagues Cup, which was held in the summer.
