Man City legend wins poker tournament
Sergio Agüero was once feared by the best goalkeepers in the world as a striker for Manchester City and Barcelona, but now the poker pros are trembling before the 35-year-old Argentinian.
Sergio Agüero won just under 53,000 US dollars - the equivalent of around 48,000 euros - in a heads-up match against poker pro Damian Salas during "GGMillion$ Week". But even before that, the former striker prevailed in a field of 104 starters against numerous top players such as Niklas Astedt, Johannes Straver and Sami Kelopuro.
This was not even Agüero's first major poker success. Last year, the former striker played in the 10,000-dollar Main Event of the Poker World Championship, where he even qualified for the second day of the tournament. A true professional - on the field and at the poker table.
