Jessica Pilz misses final at World Cup opener

For climber Jessica Pilz, the bouldering World Cup opener in Shaoxing, China, the semi-finals were the end of the line. 

On Monday, the 27-year-old from Lower Austria qualified in ninth place for the semi-finals of the top 20, where she finished 17th on Tuesday, clearly missing out on a place in the final of the top six.

"The round was very complicated, unfortunately I didn't get off to a good start. On the whole, it wasn't bad and the atmosphere was good. I can take a lot with me for the coming weeks and months, that was also the goal for the first World Cup of the season," said Pilz, who has already qualified for the Olympics.
